Gaming on Macs has never been consistently good or bad. Up until recently, predicting whether a game will be released on this operating system was always a bet, and the majority of the time, that gamble didn’t pay off.
The WWDC 2022 will mark the beginning of “a new day” for Mac gaming, however, with an emphasis on two new features that will enhance the platform.
These features include the Fast Resource Loading API, which will speed up game loading, and MetalFX, an upscaling software.
With these new developments, a growing number of games will be released on Mac, attracting a new set of gamers eager for fresh games to play.
Whatever sort of Mac player you are, there is something out there for you. The AAA blockbusters Shadow of the Tomb Raider, Deus Ex: Mankind Divided, methodical shooters, and indie darlings Stardew Valley are all examples of this.

The majority of Alien-themed video games have been quite terrible; in fact, Alien: Colonial Marines even sparked a lawsuit in 2013 from irate buyers who claimed the game’s promotion had mislead them.
Fortunately, Alien: Isolation is one of the “excellent Alien games,” as our pals at GameAgent recently noted.
Alien: Isolation, which was first launched for the PC in 2015, has now come to the Mac and does a fantastic job of emulating the suspense and atmosphere of the very first Alien movie.
The game takes place 15 years after Alien, when the Nostromo, the spacecraft that carried Ellen Ripley, had its black-box flight recorder found.
Of course, Ripley is still gone, so Amanda sets out to retrieve the black box from the space station that discovered it.
It should come as no surprise when Amanda and her team find a toothy xenomorph on the loose and slowly eating its way through the crew when they get to the space station.
As Amanda, your job is to evade the alien and survive. You may do this by hiding in a locker or by creating a diversion that will keep the alien distracted for a few key seconds.
The computer-controlled alien makes for a very fearsome antagonist and adds to the game’s feeling of suspense.
Additionally, this “collection” has a variety of additional missions, such as Crew Expendable, which recreates scenes from the first Alien movie.
However, you should be sure your Mac can handle the game’s high system requirements before purchasing it.
Baldur’s Gate II: Enhanced Edition: Best RPG

The original Baldur’s Gate II was launched by the roleplaying gods at Bioware way back in 1988, and anybody who has played more recent roleplaying games like Bioware’s Dragon Age series would find its 2D visuals to be somewhat antiquated.
However, due to the sheer magnitude of the game, it’s a need for anybody who has the least interest in roleplaying games, and it offers fantastic value for the money.
This upgraded Enhanced Edition could have used more contemporary 3D graphics, which would have been ideal, but it does get an aesthetic update with high-definition reproductions of the original artwork, so it doesn’t look too awful on contemporary computer displays.
Furthermore, Bioware has always excelled at crafting compelling stories, whether in 2D or 3D, and Baldur’s Gate II is just as engrossing now as it was almost 30 years ago.
It’s done on a genuinely epic scale, but it’s still very much classic fantasy material, with you playing the part of a warrior, wizard, rogue, or cleric.
Your character is only one of several mortal progeny that the wicked deity Bhaal has produced, and the game puts you against a number of your own siblings as they seek to dethrone Bhaal and usurp his authority.
There are other adventures along the way—300 hours’ worth, if you attempt to do them all—including power battles within the guild of Shadow Thieves and a titanic confrontation with the wizard Irenicus, who is portrayed by British character actor David Warner in scenery-chewing form.
BGII is a genuine throwback delight for RPG aficionados, especially with the appearance of the crazy barbarian Minsc and his enormous space hamster Boo.
Civilization V: Brave New World – Best Strategy Game

The fundamental gameplay mechanics of Civilization strategy games remain the same: you start with a group of cavemen and advance through history to become a civilisation that will control the globe.
However, the Civ series has long ago moved beyond the stage when all you needed to accomplish was amass a sizable army.
The expansion pack for Civilization V, Gods and Kings, adds religion to the mix while Civilization V improved the diplomatic components. Further depth is added by Brave New World.
There are nine new civilizations, including Portugal, Morocco, Brazil, and the Zulus, but the new cultural and ideological systems are what give Brave New World its true depth.
For instance, the “Culture Victory” is a modern strategy for global conquest that allows countries to instal musicians, authors, and artists in significant structures like London’s Globe Theatre.
Although there is plenty of battle if that’s your thing in strategy games, the political, religious, and cultural additions make the game more about developing a complete civilisation than simply amassing a large army.
Divinity: Original Sin 2
Divinity: Original Sin 2 could be what you’re seeking for if you like classic RPGs and are ready for your next fantasy adventure.
Divinity: Original Sin 2 takes you to Rivellon, a fantasy world full with magic, monsters, and adventure, drawing influence from vintage role-playing games like Baldur’s Gate.
You’ll begin with the very detailed character customizer before moving on. The history, physical characteristics, and personality of your character are up to you. In Divinity, you have the ability to personalise your character.
After putting things up, you’ll join a group of intrepid travellers on a mythological voyage where you’ll encounter a variety of monsters.

To go around the facility, you’ll need to employ a variety of settings and items in addition to time and space.
In addition to building on the concept that made its predecessor popular, Portal 2 also featured a rich plot.
The voices of recurrent characters in the game are provided by actors Stephen Merchant and J.K. Simmons, and they do a fantastic job.
