As Antonio and Sofia’s marriage deteriorates, Cleo cleans the home, takes care of the kids, and runs the family.
This kind of story usually places characters like Cleo in the background, but Cuaron gives her the attention she deserves by showing her everyday problems with an unexpected pregnancy and an unreliable partner. It’s a gorgeous Netflix movie that was well edited and filmed in stark black and white.
Monty Python and the Holy Grail (1975)
This Arthurian tale spoof, which is hailed as one of the funniest films ever produced, was written, performed, and directed by Terry Gilliam and Terry Jones of the renowned Monty Python comedy group.
